Walking Tour — Meet Nigel

As part of our introduction to life in Berlin — and to get us accustomed to getting around in this huge and often confusing city — we took a walking tour with Prof. Sabine Lang and Sebastian. We met as a group at the AMT coffee on Haakescher Mart, and headed all the way to Checkpoint Charlie.

Our guide was Nigel Dunkley, former English RAF member, attaché to Berlin during the Cold War, and today a well-known character in Berlin. I was Skype messaging with my friend Melis, who had been in Berlin about a year before, and she had toured with him too! A Google search for “Berlin Guide Nigel” brings up these many articles.

Here are some photos from the day!
